With the coming of smart home technology, lives have become a lot more convenient and easy. In the world of such advanced technology, every bit is only a click or a tap away! Let us look at one such luxury affair that comes with smart home technology – a motion sensor light. A motion sensor light can literally calm all your fears as it can automatically light up a dark garage, a dark sidewalk or any dark area of your hood. If you're coming back home in the latter half of the day, you might have to navigate a dark, icy sidewalk or even wonder about strange noises in the back yard, you will feel a lot safer when any nearby motion activates the outdoor lights and they switch it on! Motion detector lighting almost feels like magic, doesn’t it? How do these motion sensor lights work? Motion sensors are typically small electronic eyes that can detect infrared waves; heat waves that are radiated from moving objects. When these detectors sense a moving object, especially warmer objects like human figures, animals or cars, it automatically turns on the light. Depending on how one pre-sets the timer, the motion sensor light remains on from 1 to 20 minutes. After the 20th minute, the motion sensor automatically turns off the light unless it senses movement again. The motion sensor light holds a semi-circular field of view of up to 240 degrees and a distance range of 70 feet. An outdoor motion can even react to the movement of pet animals, an approaching person or even a passing car. Sometimes, it even reacts to wind-blown leaves! The outdoor motion sensor light allows operating the light in the most conventional and manual way, usually by flipping the motion sensor switch off for a second then puts it on again. This allows keeping the motion lights on at night whenever one wants to, even when there is no motion whatsoever. For maximum functioning, positioning a motion sensor light on the pathways leading to the front yard, backyard and driveway is recommended. In this manner, the lights will be turned on whenever we come back home. They can also be used to light up decks, patios and locations which are hazardous such as stairways or swimming pools.
